Empire State University is collecting applicants for bilingual learning coaches (Spanish-English) for our newly established Spanish language program to provide one to one and small group learning assistance and coaching in the following areas:
Accounting and Finance
Math and Statistics
Writing and Research
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing course material and clarifying assignments for students.
Providing asynchronous assistance.
Advising students on study skills, reading strategies and time management.
Assisting students with navigation of LMS (Brightspace), MS Teams, Office 365 programs (Word, Excel, etc.) and other university sites and systems.
Maintaining accurate records of student meetings (attendance, cancellations, etc.) including writing a session report for each session.
Scheduling students for appointments as needed.
Completing required training and participating in professional development.
Possibility of delivering academic support workshops in area of expertise.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited US university or comparable non-US university with relevant content expertise.
Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English.
Prior experience tutoring students at the college level.
Experience providing learning assistance in an online environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
Experience tutoring adult college students.
Prior knowledge of and experience in working with bilingual and emergent bilingual learners, particularly in online settings.
Prior experience working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Special Information:
Part-time positions, renewed on a term-to-term basis. Hours range from 4-12 hours per week during academic terms.
Evening and weekend hours may be required.
VISA sponsorship is not available for these positions.

Additional Information:
Salary: $25-$30 per hour, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
