SAIC is seeking a Satellite Test and Experiment Systems Engineer to join our team. SAIC provides specialized engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. Our program supports the research and development of the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.
SAIC has an opening for a Satellite Test and Experiment Systems Engineer to work closely with a diverse team of engineers and scientist developing and implementing the future space- ground architecture. This position supports the research and development of revolutionary space-ground systems. The selected candidate will leverage their Satellite Test and Experiment expertise and experience to support experimental mission planning. In addition, the selected candidate will analyze the a range of mission objectives to optimize the mission planning process.
Specific responsibilities:
Develop and execute test plans to verify the performance and functionality of satellites and their subsystems
Develop and execute experiments to characterize satellite performance and behavior, including orbital dynamics, thermal, and vibration testing
Analyze test and experiment data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance issues, and provide recommendations for design and operational environments
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design and operations to ensure test and experiments results are integrated into the satellite operations process
Prepare and maintain detailed test and experiment reports
Troubleshoot test and experiment issues, including identifying and resolving technical problems and anomalies
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with Poly
Bachelor's degree and 9 years related experience or Master's degree and 7 years related NRO satellite experience
NRO satellite test and experiment experience of 5+ years
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional matrixed team
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing skills
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of SAFe processes
