PROJECT:
Parsons is managing a Technical Services (TS) program for an agency within the Department of Defense to provide support for a variety of services, applications, and software development efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
If you are a passionate and creative problem solver who thrives on being customer service-oriented then this an outstanding opportunity for you to leverage your strong technical skills and experience to help our customer succeed. In this role your primary responsibilities will include:
- Creating and maintaining new technical solutions
- Enhancing existing applications by integrating new technology components and capabilities
- Assisting the customer in understanding and evaluating new technologies with respect to their current and future needs
This is NOT a standard System Admin position requiring off-hours support, monthly patching, or other similar tasks. This is a unique opportunity to exercise a great degree of freedom and creativity to architect and prototype new systems providing new capabilities and solutions to a customer that is transitioning to the next phase of their technical roadmap.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator/Systems Engineer performing administration, engineering, or design in support of system engineering, software development, or related activities
- Experience with any of the following technologies and applications:
- Linux system administration
- AWS-based architecture/design/provisioning
- Python
- Perl
- Cross-domain solutions
- RESTful web services
- Experience with any of the following a plus:
- Java/Javascript
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Atlassian suite (Jira, etc.)
- Excellent oral communication, written communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in both Windows and Linux environments a strong plus
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years providing systems-related support in the Software Development or System Engineering fields
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution

Salary Range:
