Criminal Intelligence Analyst - Statewide Information & Analysis Center**

Examples of duties:
Perform statistical and intelligence analysis by applying analytical tradecraft and best practices in analyzing data and reaching accurate conclusions.
Analyze,summarize and/or review data; report findings,interpret results and/or make recommendations and respond to requests for service in a timely manner.
Write or draft raw and finished intelligence reports,articles or related material based on research,investigation or analysis.
Examine national security related threats impacting the State of Utah to include; terrorism,organized crime,drug,gang,or targeted violence.
Form conclusions and develop recommendations for detection,deterrence,disruption and mitigation
Participate in working groups or teams or other related assignments as needed/directed.
Our ideal candidate will be able to:
Demonstrate skills in intelligence analysis
Demonstrate skills in critical thinking
Demonstrated skills in social media research and analysis
Use databases for entering data,searching and exploiting information and the development of intelligence to inform decision makers
Create spreadsheet tables and statistics
Create and present analytic reports
Demonstrate experience in supporting law enforcement investigations and task forces
Preference may be given to applicants who currently:
Have SECRET National Security Clearance
Have experience with Intelligence Analysis,Targeting,Geospatial Analysis
Have experience working on task forces,task teams or in similar
environments
Are employees of the Utah Department of Public Safety
Additional Requirements:
This position requires the successful candidate to be willing and available to travel both in state and out of state,including overnight stays when necessary
Intelligence Analysis training (to be based on previous training completed prior to SIAC employment)
Attend Subject Matter Expertise development training for this position
Completion of SECRET National Security Clearance submission packet (if clearance is not currently held by successful candidate)

A Level II background investigation will be conducted prior to employment
Risks found in the typical office setting,which is adequately lighted,heated and ventilated,e.g.,safe use of office equipment,avoiding trips and falls,observing fire regulations,etc.
Typically,the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however,there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile,etc.
