Position Summary:
We're looking to hire a Senior Account Executive to the team at C5MI! This is an opportunity to lead C5MI's efforts at one of our most strategically important customers - Defense Logistics Agency. In this role and with this customer, you'll find strong partners willing to take an aggressive approach to solving big national security business problems with new technologies and solutions. This isn't your "typical government IT shop" where going the safe and non-disruptive path is the norm. We partner with DLA to aggressively move the agency forward so they can deliver for the warfighter. We look for risk, we manage it, and we push ahead.
As the Senior Account Executive, you will oversee and expand our relationship with the DLA, driving growth through effective business development and relationship management. This role requires a balance of technical understanding, familiarity with DoD procurement processes, and experience in building and managing client and partner relationships. You will need to be proactive in identifying and capturing new business opportunities while ensuring high-quality program delivery across the DLA account.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute account strategies to expand business with DLA, balancing exceptional performance on existing programs, and expanding into new services with new internal customers.
Identify and pursue new business within DLA and other potential DoD clients, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Partner with delivery teams to ensure client satisfaction and meet or exceed all contract requirements.
Cultivate strong, trusted relationships with key DLA stakeholders, including contracting officers, logistics leaders, and IT decision-makers.
Serve as a primary point of contact for all client-related matters, responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and providing account oversight.
Establish and maintain partnerships with key industry partners, software providers, and other industry players to enhance client offerings.
Collaborate on bids, proposals, and teaming agreements to capture opportunities within the DLA.
Provide executive-level oversight on program delivery to ensure technical and contractual alignment with client expectations.
Act as a liaison between the client and internal technical teams, translating client requirements into actionable solutions.
Required/Desired Qualifications:
Education, Training, and Experience:
Required - Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or another related field.
Required - A minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or account management, specifically with the DoD.
Required - Proven experience with DoD procurement processes, regulations, and contract vehicles.
Must be a U.S. citizen and must be able get a government security clearance.
Desired/Preferred - Experience working directly with DLA or within the logistics and defense industry.
Desired/Preferred - Experience with a large consulting firm supporting the DoD or broader federal government.
Desired/Preferred - Experience with complex SAP programs.
Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities:
Required - Strong technical program understanding, ideally with exposure to system integration, logistics, and/or enterprise software solutions.
Required - Demonstrated ability to establish and nurture relationships with clients, partners, and vendors within the federal space.
Required - Must be able to travel regularly to DLA locations, including Battle Creek, MI, and other DLA sites, to maintain client relationships and oversee program performance.
Required - Deep understanding of SAP solutions and their application in business transformation.
Required - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
Required - Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Required - Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to lead through ambiguity and uncertainty.
