Overview
The Utility Arborist is responsible for managing the distribution line clearance program, including patrolling distribution circuits and prescribing work to be performed by tree contractors, and conducting field audits and documenting results, and determining when the next trim is required.
The Utility Arborist shall maintain a positive working relationship with tree contractor in the assigned area and ensure tree crews' compliance with all company safety rules and applicable laws and regulations for worker and public safety, in addition to responsibility for timely resolution of customer complaints.
TRC is hiring multiple Utility Arborist (ISA Certified) to be based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with responsibilities supporting projects across various locations on the island.
Responsibilities
Review and verify Field Contractor assessments.
Develop work order packages to issue to Field Contractor.
Respond to Field Contractor questions concerning work specification and requirements.
Inspect work completed by Field Contractors for compliance with utility specifications.
Assist in the management of Field Contractors during storm restoration operations.
Understand and follow all safety rules and procedures. Perform job site inspections and safety observations on Field Contractor.
Notify property owners of tree pruning and tree/brush removal work to be performed relating to the specification, mapping circuits.
Manage internal/external customer requests.
Perform outage investigations and, when necessary, obtaining permits from public agencies, and document work using a hand-held computer or smartphone.
Perform all necessary duties for emergency response in accordance with all safety requirements, laws and regulations, and applicable labor agreements.
Managing the distribution line clearance program.
Managing the patrolling distribution circuits and prescribing work to be performed by tree contractors.
Conducting field audits and documenting results to determine when the next trim is required.
