Cimarron is seeking a
Satellite Flight and Payload Software Engineer in Huntington Beach, CA. The selected candidate will work with the Boeing Research and Technology (BRandT) Payload Products and Technologies (PPandT) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design, and development of advanced space-based imaging sensor payloads. The position will involve creating software products for image sensor payloads and space vehicle flight control. The selected candidate will work with the PPandT product team to provide complete solutions, including systems engineering, optics design, algorithms, software development, firmware development, and electronics. The candidate will work with the software product-line owner, program managers, and development leads to create common software products and tailor them for use on a portfolio of customer-funded programs. The successful candidate will work across programs to ensure software products are developed for commonality and tailored to meet mission needs. The candidate will work with development leads for satellite flight and payload software, firmware, and algorithms to ensure engineering excellence and achieve program objectives.
Key Duties:
Develop flight and payload software requirements, architectures, designs, interfaces, and code in VxWorks and Linux.
Develop flight software that implements guidance, navigation, control algorithm, and image processing.
Integrate command and telemetry systems that communicate with payload, ground systems, and mission operations.
Integrate flight software into the processor-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop.
Provide support toreal-time operating systems, real-time software, and schedulers.
Support the integration of software components in VxWorks.
Drive flight and payload software product line architecture and strategic reuse across all programs.
Drive software execution to deliver products on-cost and on-schedule to programs.
Responsible for satellite and payload software safety, assurance, quality, and engineering excellence.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
5 or moreyears of experience with software development in a collaborative team environment using Agile principles and a structured development process, including code reviews and DevOps processes/tools.
5or more years of experience developing and debugging software using high-level programming languages (C and C++).
3 or more years of experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
1 or moreyear(s) of experience with satellite or space-based payloads.
1 or moreyear(s) of experience using Systems Engineering tools (i.e., CAMEO, CORE 9, etc.) for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
1 or moreyears of experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps toolchain using Artifactory and/or GitLab.
Bachelor's degree.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
Active Security Clearance.
10or more years ofrelated work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with satellite communications or telemetry systems.
Experience with new product development with small, agile teams on fast-paced, dynamic, customer-funded programs.
Experience with fault-tolerant architectures and design.
Bachelor of Science degree (or greater) from an accredited course of study in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or other technical degree.
