Nightwing seeks a full-time Information Review and Release Analyst (full-performance level) in the Herndon, VA area in support of a dynamic Intelligence Community component offering a flexible work schedule. The position requires an individual to review and thoroughly research requests for the release of information in accordance with one or more of the following: Executive Order (EO) 13526, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and/or Privacy Act (PA). These requests are submitted directly to the IC component by the general public, Presidential Libraries, or received upon referral or coordination from another government agencies. The person in this position serves as an Analyst and/or Case Manager for the Executive Order Mandated (EOM), FOIA, PA, and Appeals requests, from the receipt of the initial request letter, to creating case documentation and researching prior requests. They also review information and make recommendations which includes collaborating with other government agency (OGA) counterparts, prior to the final consolidation of IC component element response and release decisions back to the requester. The candidate must be able to successfully apply critical-thinking skills when evaluating each unique case, and when utilize a broad array of customer systems and tools in order to accurately inform the review and release process. Due to the complexity of most requests, time management and the ability to collaborate with other team members is a must. The selected candidate must be able to consistently deliver high-quality, accurate work, and be willing to perform ad hoc duties as needed. Candidates are able to explore their creative side for identifying process improvement ideas. Typical Duties include, but are not limited to: Reviews & redacts certain equities within classified documents, records and files in accordance with established standard operating procedures, work flows and policies. Submits requests to the scanning team to scan any documents needed for research Submits requests to the search team to conduct the initial of search for data relevant to the case Assists with the training of newly hired search team members, as requested Collaborates with supervisory client POCs to recommend and implement changes that improves processes, workflows and standard operating procedures Works an eight-hour shift between 6:00AM -6:00PM, Monday-Friday Infrequently provides surge support outside of normal office hours for short-fused emergent requests Mandatory Skills: It is desired that the individual possesses a minimum of one (1) year of experience reviewing & redacting classified information for the Sponsor or Intelligence Community (IC) in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), and Executive Order Mandatory Declassification Review (EOMDR) programs and Executive Order (EO) 13526 directive Will also consider candidates with one or more years of experience in a position requiring analytic skills (such as intelligence analysts, foreign disclosure officers, CD/CI/CT analysts, etc.) AND a demonstrated familiarity with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), and Executive Order Mandatory Declassification Review (EOMDR) programs and Executive Order (EO) 13526 directive A Bachelor’s degree in any liberal arts, scientific or technical discipline will be considered equivalent to three (3) years of relevant experience A Master’s degree is equivalent to an additional year of experience A driven self-starter who collaborates with client staff and has the capability to recommend and to adapt to new processes Must be a team player willing to collaborate and develop robust relationships with clients, colleagues and technical teams Skilled in time management with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and multitask in order to meet tight deadlines Goal oriented individual who is able to apply critical thinking and provide out of the box solutions Ability to communicate effectively with peers and various management levels delivering a proactive experience and approach to high quality services for all stake holders Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Poly on day one of employment Previously part of a leading Fortune 100 company and headquartered in Dulles, VA; Nightwing became independent in 2024 but continues to support the nation’s most mission impactful initiatives.
