CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit/electronic transfer program.
The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.
This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.
As a CANDIDATE, you are required to provide documentation (i.e., High School Diploma or Equivalency, College Transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.
Must be able to obtain a completion of a favorable National Agency Check background investigation clearance.
NOTE

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A High School Diploma or equivalent; AND
Two (2) years of experience working as an Electrician or performing electrical work.
Must be capable of climbing a ladder and using a high lift up to 40 feet
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installs, maintains, alters and repairs exterior electrical panels, sub-panels and load centers and associated components; meters, meter bases and risers; electrical conduit, wiring and associated devices, i.e. light fixtures, outlets, switches, etc. Assists with interior electrical work as required and directed. All work is performed within specifications and in accordance with National Electric Code.
Repairs electrical equipment at wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), water pump wells and lift stations to include single and three phase motors, switches and controls.
Maintains and repairs emergency generators and related controls/transfer switches. Ensures proper preventative maintenance and operation of unit is performed within 3 days of scheduled use. Units are maintained in good working order.
Conducts monthly electrical meter readings and ensures readings are returned to Resource Management Division (RMD) by the 5th of that respective month. Annotates and initiates the replacement of any defective meters. Updates RMD of any meter additions/deletions.
Assists other members of the Public Works section as required and directed.
Complies with Hazardous Waste Management rules and regulations within the workplace. MSDS sheets are maintained on each product being used. Quantities are only ordered that can be completely used for purposes intended. Containers and products are disposed of in accordance with Camp Blanding Hazardous Rules and Procedures and spills are reported and cleaned up according to published procedures.
Responsible for all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the procedures and methods for installing, altering, repairing and maintaining electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
