The Enterprise Services (ES) Material Accounting team is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Material Accountant (Level 02). This individual will serve as an integral team member in support of the Company's inventory and material accounting and will interact and collaborate with various sectors, divisions, and technical staff to solve complex inventory/material issues and questions.
This position but must be within commuting distance to the Melbourne, FL campus. Working remotely will only be allowed on a part-time basis. Candidate must have the ability to obtain Government Top Secret Level Clearance to support Classified programs (if not currently active).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Review and collect data to prepare reports in accordance with the company's cost accounting system (SAP GPD) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), corporate policies and procedures, disclosure statements and government regulations, including MMAS and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
Prepare and present various analyses, which could include material cost and inventory accuracy, price variance, allocations, and excess
Research, analyze, and interpret current and historical cost using Product Actual & Cost Estimating (PACE) Reports for activities such as: material and labor cost shifts, grouping/pegging/distribution, and goods receipt/invoice receipts (GR/IR)
Perform Material Master data maintenance, such as: Valuation Class, Material Group, and Material Type updates.
Prepare and/or Review documentation to post journal entries for various material accounting transactions.
Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations for material accounts using Blackline.
Drives continued success by finding and communicating opportunities for efficiencies, process improvement, and/or automation of processes, in support of the Company's digital transformation initiatives.
Supports other initiatives as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with a minimum 3 years accounting or finance experience or 1 year with a relevant Master's Degree. 10+ years of accounting or finance experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
Understanding of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
Knowledge of process controls, business functions, and material management and cost transaction systems.
Strong MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) skills
Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Level Security Clearance following hire
Preferred Qualifications:
·Active or Current Top Secret Security Clearance.
Experience with SAP Grouping, Pegging, and Distribution (GPD) or reporting with SAP Business Intelligence/Analytics.
Professional experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
Demonstrated experience with process and system capabilities within manufacturing and project management (i.e., cost accounting, MRP, Inventory, Production).
Demonstrated understanding of General Ledger and Financial Statement impacts from material/inventory related transactions.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Material Management & Accounting Systems (MMAS) compliance standards and activities.
Experience with data analytics and dashboarding.
Salary Range: $58,000 - $87,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
