Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join our Ground Systems business area, focusing on expanding our footprint in the ground combat and autonomous systems market. The ideal candidate will excel at interfacing with US Army customers, building strong relationships, and leveraging these connections to foster new business opportunities. This role is crucial for developing and nurturing strategic relationships with US Army customers, with a focus on delivering capabilities for ground combat platforms and autonomous systems. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a comprehensive understanding of the Army's ground system programs, initiatives, and a strong track record in securing high-value contracts.
Essential Functions:
Establish and maintain robust relationships with US Army stakeholders, understanding their needs and aligning our offerings to their strategic objectives.
Lead the pursuit of new business opportunities within the ground combat and autonomous systems domain, guiding capture teams through the entire acquisition cycle from opportunity identification to contract award.
Serve as the primary point of contact for US Army customers, ensuring their requirements are met and that L3Harris is positioned as a preferred partner.
Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify and develop new business opportunities, including follow-on and adjacent market prospects.
Collaborate with program management, engineering, and other functional teams to develop tailored solutions that address the unique challenges of ground combat and autonomous systems.
Expand our market presence through tailored business development strategies, staying informed on Army market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities.
Actively participate in strategic planning sessions, workshops, and reviews (e.g., Black Hat, Blue Team, Price to Win) to refine win strategies and competitive positioning.
Negotiate teaming agreements and form strategic alliances to enhance our market position.
Translate complex technical information into compelling value propositions for customer engagement and communication.
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, acting as a change agent to implement new strategies and technologies that enhance business development efforts.
Support the business rhythm through regular reporting and updates, maintaining a clear view of progress and challenges.
Establish relationships within the Army, particularly with organizations such as DEVCOM GVSC, PEO GCS, PEO CS&CSS, NGCV CFT, TACOM.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of related experience in defense, government, or relevant industry sectors. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
Proven ability to translate customer technical requirements into actionable solutions using our technologies and services.
Proven track record of building and sustaining customer relationships, particularly with the US Army or similar military branches.
In-depth knowledge of ground combat platforms, autonomous systems, and associated technologies.
Willingness to travel as required to meet business objectives and customer needs.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels of an organization.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other Transaction Authority (OTA) contracting mechanisms.
At least five years of experience in developing and implementing solutions for complex challenges within the DoD.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $152,000 - $202,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
