Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Lead and Manage: Oversee daily work assignments, training, and leadership of Firefighters, Drivers, Paramedics, and Lieutenants.
Incident Command: Act as the initial Incident Commander, mitigating emergencies using the Incident Command System.
Training Delivery: Conduct and document training sessions through lectures and hands-on approaches.
Operate Equipment: Utilize and manage all department vehicles and equipment, including hydraulic pumps and generators.
Emergency Response: Direct fire suppression, medical aid, rescue activities, and hazardous materials mitigation.
Administrative Tasks : Communicate effectively and professionally, accurately forecast staffing, record daily timekeeping, maintain timely training reports and summarize emergency response information.
Other Duties: As assigned.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Certifications: DoD (IFSAC) or Pro Board or Florida State Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Hazardous Materials Operations, and NIMS ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800. Within one year of hire, must complete an equivalent certification for Airport Firefighting.
Experience: Prior leadership in fire and emergency services preferred.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and training skills. Proficient with computers and MS Office applications.
Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid Class E Florida state driver's license, and have no history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture; or felony convictions.
Additional Requirements : Successfully complete all training and obtain all required permits, licenses, certifications and security clearances for the site.
