Job Description:
Accenture Federal Services is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer with a focus on Splunk to lead the development, deployment, and management of secure cloud applications and security information and event management (SIEM) systems. This role will combine expertise in Splunk engineering with advanced information security practices, ensuring data integrity, privacy, compliance, and performance.
Responsibilities Include:
Reviewing and assessing Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization Body of Evidence (BOE) for classified information systems, to include System Security Plan (SSP), Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM), Continuous Monitoring Plan, Incident Response Plan, Access Control Plan, Security Assessment Plan, etc.
Review new and existing systems for technical compliance with IA directives and protection of data at all classification levels including SCI.
Advise on in-depth security design review and threat/risk assessments.
Provide inputs to technical artifacts, including Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), SCTM, and Risk Assessment Reports (RARs).
Design and implement automation efficiencies in Splunk for optimal data ingestion, analysis, and reporting.
Develop advanced queries, dashboards, and alerts to identify key data trends and anomalies.
Oversee the architecture and deployment of distributed, clustered Splunk environments in cloud platforms, ensuring best-in-class engineering standards.
Configure and operate Splunk and other SIEM tools, including ACAS/Nessus scanning, to monitor and report on system security and compliance.
Create incident handling procedures and support troubleshooting efforts.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and program stakeholders to gather requirements, perform troubleshooting, and create custom Splunk searches, queries, and dashboards.
Develop and implement continuous monitoring and testing for information and system security.
Produce detailed system security plans and related documentation as requested.
Here's what you need:
Relevant Associate or Bachelor's Degree or, supporting certifications and relevant job or military experience of 4 years in lieu of degree
3+ years of implementing NIST 800-53 security controls and the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
3+ years of using information security and assurance practices and principles
2+ years working with Splunk
2+ years of experience with virtualization or cloud environments.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Sec+, CISSP, CASP, etc.) or DoD 8140 equivalent
Bonus points if you have:
Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect, Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin, Splunk Core Certified Consultant or other related certifications (AWS, SIEM, cloud, forensics, Linux, Windows, etc)
Experience working in a DevSecOps project environment
Ability to work cross-functionally with application teams to modernize applications where appropriate and support cloud integration efforts with Splunk
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to engage with users in a professional manner and present technical concepts plainly to semi-technical customers
Ability to work in a matrixed team environment and support multiple different efforts, as needed
Desire to learn new technologies and tools and willingness to share your experience with the team
JSIG or ICD 503 compliance knowledge
Security Clearance :
- Active Secret Clearance is required to start
TS preferred with SCI eligibility.
