The Brevard Avionics Quality Inspection Associate Manager is responsible for the Operations Quality Inspection Team, in support of Quality Inspection performance and execution across the Malabar site. This position will oversee areas of Operations Inspection and Inspection Personnel, while supporting Production/Operations, Quality Engineering, and Quality Site Director, working closely with daily Operations Teams for Production Flow. The Quality Inspection Associate Manager will lead the Inspection Group in making significant improvements in products and processes, ensuring Clarity, Alignment, and measurable Movement to achieve site Operations Business results. The Quality Associate Manager will report directly to the Site Director of Quality.
Essential Functions:
Provides Inspector training, logistical and infrastructural assistance for quality initiatives
Responsible for developing and implementing inspection planning, inspection methods, and inspection procedures to verify product reliability, repeatability and reproducibility
Supports Internal Audits and related summary improvements
Supports Program budgets and monitors expenditures
Exceptional knowledge, experience using Quality tools and principles in high mix/low volume business model
Good understanding of/experience in Industry standards such as ISO9001:2015, AS9100, AS9145, etc.
Works with senior leadership and cross functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Quality Control, etc. to ensure first time Quality performance and customer success.
Supports Quality Corrective Action Board (CAB) and Zero-Defect Planning (ZDP) implementation to drive Quality performance and a Zero Defect/Escape mentality
Supports relevant aspects of New Product Development (NPD) phases, including APQP
Supports Customer engagements
Supports key strategic metrics such as COPQ, Customer Escapes, DPPM/defect reduction, First Pass Yield, etc.
Ensures compliance to industry, regulatory, and statutory standards including, but not limited to DOD, FAA, federal, state, and local regulations, etc.
Required Qualificatons:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Minimum 5 years experience in the electro-mechanical manufacturing industry with Quality Assurance and Operational Excellence and/or Inspection focused background
Minimum 2 years experience in management and leadership experience in job area.
Experience in analyzing information or data and ability to identify trends
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Basic understanding of Emotional Intelligence concepts and skills as it applies to managing people in an electrical/electronic products manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience and results creating and promoting/socializing Inspector/Mfg. Training content, comprehension testing for touch/non-touch labor personnel
Demonstrated experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
Experience in a "flow" production environment where Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Employee experience is monitored and measured to support business growth, defect reduction, COPQ reduction, FPY Improvement, defects per thousand hours improvement, and continual Improvement in support of Operational Excellence Initiatives
Experience with Servant Leadership style of Leadership to ensure Clarity, Alignment, and Movement is achieved within the Value Stream
Experience with employee Engagement, On Time Delivery, and Financial Performance goals and Key Results driven from a Quality Compliance perspective
