Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking Staff Software Engineer - 3676-1. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama or Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel Program.
What You'll Get To Do:
The successful candidate will be a motivated software developer who is comfortable with both front and back-end programming as well as identifying COTS candidates. Full Stack Developers are responsible for developing and designing front end web architecture, ensuring the responsiveness of applications and working alongside graphic designers for web design features, among other duties. Full Stack Developers will be required to see out a project from conception to final product, requiring good organizational skills and attention to detail.
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Developing front end website architecture.
Designing user interactions on web pages.
Developing back-end website applications.
Creating servers and databases for functionality.
Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
Working alongside graphic designers for web design features.
Designing and developing APIs.
Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.
Evaluation of COTS products that may contribute to the end product
The successful candidate will:
Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Perform work without appreciable direction.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science with 12 years of experience; or Master's degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
Experience with developing web architectures
Experience with the Atlassian Software Development and Collaboration Tools
Experienced with Typescript
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ELK stack development
Experience with Agile development methodology
Experience as a scrum master
Experience with containerization and cloud deployment
Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Proficiency with server-side languages such as Express, Python, PHP and .Net.
Experience working in a collaborative Agile development scrum team

Salary Range: $163,200 - $244,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
