About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. Responsibilities Serves as senior advisor for information security, industrial security, personnel security, foreign disclosure, communication security (COMSEC), Transient Electromagnetic Pulse Emanation Standard (TEMPEST), and security education. Conducts inspections, program reviews and other fact-finding inquiries to remedy problems, deficiencies and inconsistencies. Develops information security, industrial security, personnel security, foreign disclosure, COMSEC, TEMPEST, and security education guidance. Monitors security program administration to ensure effective and uniform compliance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, and local security directives and regulations. Identifies security trends throughout the command and provides staff-level advice and assistance in the resolution of systemic problems. Recommends changes to guidelines, policies, regulations, precedents, and work directives ensuring products are consistent with applicable Army security positions and policies. Develops information papers, briefings and other products to brief management and higher headquarters. Technically and administratively supervises 5-10 employees engaged in security specialist and assistant work.
