Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an experienced professional to join our dynamic contracts management team. This role will support various United States Government contracts for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program within the Strategic and Missile Defense Line of Business. The selected candidate will manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, working closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, mitigate risk, and support successful program outcomes. The selected candidate will be an individual contributor, but must be able to succeed with minimal supervision and direction. They will work both Prime Contracts and IWTAs (inter-company agreements) and support proposal preparation, negotiation, and contract administration.
The THAAD Space program is primarily located in Lockheed Martin's facility in Huntsville, Alabama. As such the successful candidate will be located in Huntsville. This is a hybrid role requiring some time to be spent on site in a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Additionally, since the selected candidate will support classified programs up to Secret, candidates that have an active security clearance are highly desired.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and administer U.S. Government contracts ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable regulations
- Directly interface with external customers and government agencies on contract-related matters.
- Lead contract negotiations for new awards and contract modifications
- Support the proposal process by reviewing terms and conditions, identifying risks, and providing guidance on compliance
- Monitor contract performance, ensuring timely submission of deliverables and adherence to contractual obligations
- Work closely with legal, finance, and program management to resolve contractual issues and support program success
- Maintain up-to-date records of contracting actions
- Handle contract modifications, amendments, and extensions ensuring accurate documentation and execution.
Basic Qualifications:
- Professional experience managing or negotiating contracts with the US Government
- Knowledge of and ability to work with the FAR/DFARS
- Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college
- You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills:
- Experience preparing compliant proposals for large dollar efforts ($100M+)
- Experience working with multiple contract types (FFP, FPI, CPAF/IF, CPFF, T&M, IDIQ)
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to support and achieve business goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to persuade and motivate action
- Desire to help grow the business and gain efficiencies to improve program performance
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and provide contractual support and guidance to other program personnel
- Ability to build strong positive customer relationships
- Experience communicating across varied audiences, including written, spoken, and presentation preparation
- Ability to collaboratively interface with diverse disciplines including: Program Management, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Property, and Business Development
- Ability to take initiative and achieve results in a
focused, fast paced, and dynamic environment
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college with 5 years or more of professional experience; or 3 years or more of professional experience with a Masters degree.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
