The IT Support & Web Development Specialist offers support and technical assistance to customers and employees who are using software, hardware, or other computer systems and need help completing tasks or troubleshooting problems through diagnostic tests and remote access to their computers. This position will also write code, develop, and implement Website security measures, such as firewalls and message encryption, and incorporate technical considerations into Website development plans.DutiesIT Support Oversee the daily performance of computer systems. Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software. Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support. Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems. Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications. Monitor security system performance logs to identify problems and notify the System Administrator when problems occur. Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications. Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities. Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to the System Administrator. Prepare evaluations of software or hardware and recommend improvements or upgrades. Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software. Inspect equipment and read order sheets to prepare for delivery to users. Keep current on industry trends and best practices. Web Development Write supporting code for Web applications or Web sites. Select programming languages, design tools, or applications. Perform or direct Web site updates. Respond to user email inquiries or set up automated systems to send responses. Communicate with network personnel or Web site hosting agencies to address hardware or software issues affecting Web sites. Collaborate with management or users to develop e-commerce strategies and to integrate these strategies with Web sites. Establish appropriate server directory trees. Recommend and implement performance improvements. Document technical factors such as server load, bandwidth, database performance, and browser and device types. Develop or implement procedures for ongoing Web site revision. Develop and/or maintain databases that support Web applications and Web sites.Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Science, Communications Technology, Information & Communications Technology or related field preferred. At least 3-years' of relevant experience. CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+ Certification preferred. Experience in launching, customizing and managing WooCommerce/WordPress websites. Use of Agile tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Experienced with HTML, PHP, and MySQL, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks Microsoft 365 / SharePoint working knowledge. Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics.
