The Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Center (LAIC) team is seeking a mid-career AI Software Engineer for classified deployments for machine learning workload environments and tooling.
Your Mission:
As a Classified MLOps Deployment Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in Kubernetes and experience deploying machine learning tools in various settings to drive several key initiatives. Your primary focus areas will include deploying tooling in disconnected environments, fostering relationships with classified systems developers, optimizing infrastructure as code and software bills of materials, and providing deployment expertise across the technology stack. Your responsibilities will include the following:
Identifying classified program model training and deployment pain points
Acting as a developer relations lead for classified environment users
Researching, understanding, and deploying third-party and in-house machine learning capabilities for use in classified and disconnected environments
Incorporating deployment lessons learned for improved deployment artifacts
Establishing recommended vision and objectives for MLOps platform disconnected environments support

Basic Qualifications:
Kubernetes Experience, including distributions (OpenShift, Rancher, GKE)
Linux experience, including distributions (RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), Debian, UNIX, etc)
Experience with Containers, including Open Container Initiative (OCI) and Docker
Experience with Pipeline Automation, such as ArgoCD, Tekton, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins
Experience with Collaboration Tools, such as Slack, Confluence, GitLab
Experience with Package Management, such as Helm, Kustomize
Knowledge of DevSecOps and Cloud Native software development practices
Knowledge of common machine learning frameworks, such as TensorFlow, Torch, Sci-kit
Knowledge of Machine Learning Architectures, including GPU Computing, High Performance Computing (HPC)
Knowledge of ML/AI orchestration, such as Kubeflow, Flyte, MLflow
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with Monitoring and Performance, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, Sysdig
Familiarity with public cloud computing services, such as AWS, GCP, Azure

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $89,600 - $171,800. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $103,100 - $194,300. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
