Job Description:
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated mid-level Systems Engineer to join the IBS Program team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing rigorous testing and analysis on software applications and RF systems to ensure compliance with military standards. This role demands strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to address tactical communication system functional and performance issues effectively. The individual must be able to adapt to constantly changing priorities and assignments. Also, the Systems Engineer must be flexible enough to take on other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Conduct detailed testing and analysis of software applications and radio systems based on military standards documents.
Utilize technical and troubleshooting skills to investigate, diagnose, and resolve functional and performance issues within tactical communication systems.
Generate, review, and maintain technical documentation, including papers, calculations, and briefings.
Prepare and present comprehensive technical briefs to internal management teams, demonstrating findings and recommendations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development and improvement of software applications.
Support configuration management efforts in the SIL.
Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and compliance standards.
Job Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
Must possess at a minimum an ACTIVE DoD Secret clearance with access to SCI, and eligibility to eventually obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance. US citizenship is required.
Hands on experience with testing, integrating and verifying systems.
Experience with scripting or coding.
Must possess Security+ certification or have the ability to obtain Security+ certification.
Physical requirement: ability to lift 30 pounds.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Excellent written, oral, and presentation communications skills.
Experience writing test reports.
Knowledge of data links (e.g. Link16, CMF) and data link analysis.
Intermediate skill level with MS Office products (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint).
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
Physical requirements: Some lifting in a Systems Integration Lab (SIL) environment
Proficient with ARDB.
Knowledge of DOORS.
Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
Experience in building and analyzing Data Link (e.g. Link16, CMF, etc.) messages
Experience in performing system impact analysis.
