Principal Systems Engineer

KBR is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join our team in Dallas, TX. The successful candidate will provide In-Service Engineering support, failure analysis, maintain-ability / repair-ability support and analysis, architecture design, implementation oversight, systems integration, verification and validation, interface management and general engineering and technical assessments to the Advanced Sensors Technologies (AST) Program Office (PO) for the Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS).
Responsibilities
Supporting system activities, supporting development and refinement of system architectures to include requirements definition; supporting conceptual design; investigating emerging technologies/concepts; providing technical support for contractual documentation; performing engineering studies to support program requirements; analyze current capabilities, identify shortfalls and propose improvements; evaluation of contract proposals for technical feasibility; risk analysis and mitigation; supporting integration of into system architecture and systems of systems; providing technical support to specification verification activities; root cause investigation; assist in the development of sensor calibration and production manufacturing processes; providing support for interface management and compliance; providing technical, cost, and schedule monitoring and assessment of AST efforts.
Basic Qualifications
Education & Experience: A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Technical field with a minimum of 8 years of experience is required. Demonstrated ability to work with integrated teams comprised of military, civilian, and contractor personnel. Experience working in a DoD security environment. Work closely with engineering teams to evaluate, integrate and deliver radar and sensor technologies.
Clearance: Top Secret/SSBI security clearance is required. Must have completed a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) within the past six (6) years or currently enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation (CE) Program.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience operating aircraft, airborne systems, or weapon systems
Operational experience with DoD active-duty customers
Experience with Advanced Sensor Technologies Program Office
Experience in Mechanical Engineering
