Description: Join our team as an affordability & cost competitiveness analyst in the defense industry, where you'll play a vital role in driving affordability and cost competitiveness within the finance and business operations organization. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to critical business operations and financial strategies in support of national security and defense programs.
You will work alongside experienced professionals to support key initiatives, including cost optimization, program financial management, and affordability analysis. You'll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and methodologies while contributing to solutions that ensure the success and sustainability of critical defense projects.
Key Responsibilities:
-Assist in financial planning and analysis for programs, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
-Support cost estimation and affordability assessments for new and ongoing projects to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
-Develop and maintain financial models and tools to enhance data-driven decision-making.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, supply chain, production operations, program management) to analyze and continuously improve program and enterprise affordability initiatives.
-Monitor and report on financial performance, ensuring compliance with government regulations (e.g., FAR/DFAR) and corporate policies.
-Conduct ad hoc analysis and provide recommendations to leadership to improve business operations and financial outcomes.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business administration or related discipline.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in data analysis tools or software (e.g., AI, Tableau) preferred. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
