StreetLight Data is seeking a high caliber Front-End Software Engineer to be part of our amazing Advanced Services team. StreetLight Services delivers cutting-edge transportation data, novel software tools, and insights to a growing list of global customers in combination with our industry-leading SaaS platform. You'll collaborate with a cross-functional group of engineers, data scientists, and project managers to deliver high-quality, customer-facing solutions that combine usability with technical sophistication. Your work will directly contribute to delivering cutting-edge services in data processing, visualization, and interaction.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain customer-facing front-end features and interfaces using React.
Build dynamic dashboards and visualization tools for data insights, ensuring usability and accessibility.
Prototype and iterate on feature concepts in collaboration with a wide range of team members.
Adapt and scale front-end systems to meet customer needs and evolving project requirements.
Work closely with designers and stakeholders to implement clean, consistent UI/UX components.
Collaborate with Data Science, Data Engineering, and Software Engineering teams to bring new metrics and techniques into the products.
Partner with the data science team to translate complex datasets and algorithms into user-friendly, map-based visualizations and applications.
Location: remote in the United States or Canada
BS / MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an Engineering discipline from a top university
3+ years of experience as a Front End Software Engineer at a software product company, preferably in an enterprise market
3+ years of experience in usual front end suspects like React, CSS, Javascript
Hands-on experience with mapping libraries like Leaflet, Mapbox, or Google Maps API
Experience working with Django or other back-end frameworks is a plus
Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with back-end systems.
Experience with SQL databases
Product and customer orientation
Good communication skills - both written and verbal
Quick learner, and a strong team player
