The Customer Experience and Risk Services (CXRS) team within the Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) org is looking for a software development engineer to continue setting the standard for engineering excellence, from designs to algorithms and to implementations, and builds scalable self-service capabilities that transform diverse user requirements into full-stack lovable products.
Our tech team works closely with cross-functional teams (product, risk, science, UI/UX) to enable multiple businesses across Amazon to move fast via self-service operation and automation. Our tech team builds secure, accessible, maintainable, scalable, performant, and operationally excellent and low cost software solutions using the latest AWS serverless technology and managed services. You will work with technologies up and down the stack, ranging from infrastructure management tooling, to test framework automation, to front-end dashboards, as well as AI and machine learning to come up with novel solutions as we build the next generation of our system.
Key job responsibilities
Play a key role in building software products and features from the ground up.

This is a technical role for a startup team with an enormous opportunity to create impact to millions of Amazon customers globally. You are trusted to operate independently and meet daily with teammates for updates. You are responsible for defining and delivering important strategic components for leading edge products using the latest AWS services and solutions. You are adept at building scalable software, show excellent judgment in driving escalations and effectively partner with all levels of leadership. Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understand and improve customer experience, globally. We are a team of builders that develop products, services, ideas, and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings - for almost every business at Amazon - for every customer (e.g., consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, gamers).
Our approach is based on determining the customer need, along with problem solving, and we work backwards from there. We use technical and non-technical approaches and stay aware of industry and business trends. We are a global team made up of diverse set of profiles, skills, and backgrounds - including: Product Managers, Software Developers, Computer Vision experts, Solutions Architects, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Business Analysts, Risk Managers, and more.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Experience with AWS DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift or similar large scale databases and/or distributed computing.
Experience with both backend and front end development (full-stack engineering).
Experience in communicating with users, scientists, product managers, stakeholders, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe product features, technical designs, and product strategy.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
