Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals.The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. The chosen candidate will be a key contributor to the design and development of Java-based applications.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Assist in the generation of software design artifacts, implement software changes, support design and code reviews, support software testing, and resolve issues arising from software testing
May also design and develop MATLAB-based algorithms within the Battle Management System
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or related engineering field from an accredited college with at least 5 years of software development experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in full life cycle software development of Java-based applications and systems
Hands-on development experience for Java-based applications in a UNIX/Linux platform environment
Experience developing software in a structured, process-based integrated team environment
Experience with git/GitLab, eclipse, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, and automated unit testing frameworks
Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as System requirements, Use Cases, and SysML diagrams
Should be comfortable with mathematical algorithm development or translating mathematical algorithm design into software
Working knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense concepts, Battle Management and Command and Control (BM/C2) systems, defense communications systems, and the BMDS in general
Good working knowledge of MS Office products
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed, and possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment
Self-motivated and customer-oriented
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Command and control system application development
Radar functionality and radar control
Experience with Software Integration testing
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance, identify the root cause, and recommend a solution.
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
