ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented IT Systems Administrator / Software Engineer to join our team in Lompoc, CA.
The IT Systems Administrator / Software Engineer will primarily evaluate and update a fully integrated data environment for mission-assurance and launch-verification software applications on a USG-provided virtual server or in the Platform One environment, maintain administrative privileges provided by the USG to prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot USG-provided laptops and virtual servers. Resolve access and operations issues, apply NOTAMS and patches, and support the squadron military leads and SE&I lead in maintaining the accuracy of the computer equipment account. Experience with network-based and stand-alone audio-visual systems is beneficial.
Requires knowledge and experience with the Microsoft suite of Office productivity and development applications, such as Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Microsoft Power Platform products, such as Power APPS, Power BI, and Power Automate, and administration and deployment of Microsoft server and workstation operating systems.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and update a fully integrated data environment for mission-assurance and launch-verification software applications on a USG-provided server or Platform One environment.
Evaluate and update a Software System Requirements Specification and Software System Design Specification.
Provide system-level evaluation of mission assurance and launch verification software to include oversight of: structure and use, training development, and system maintenance and upgrades.
Review and update mission assurance data in the SLD 30 databases, (e.g. LCDB, LVDB). Products include but are not limited to System Software Implementation Plan, System Security Guide, RMF compliance review, recommendations, and database management plan.
Evaluate and update all non-system and system software documentation. Products include but are not limited to System Software Implementation Plan, System Security Guide, Software User Manual, System Requirement Specification, and database management plan.
Compile required information relevant to scheduled mission critical milestones (e.g., items of interest, criticality, and responsible organization).
Perform SQL server database configuration engineering, database programming to prepare for launch operations, satellite and booster processing, and contingency/anomaly resolution.
Evaluate and update a SLD 30 software solution to enable the real time generation of Operational Mission Data. Products include but are not limited to database management plans, graphical displays of data trends, current status, and real time critical metrics for Operational Status reporting.
Create products that utilize DoD Platform One applications, to include Confluence and Jira software products, to provide robust communications and program/project management solutions.
Work directly with engineers, developers, and leadership to understand their specific JIRA/Confluence needs and provide guidance and solutions.
Design and implement dashboards for operational/performance reporting metrics and reports based on Branch and mission needs. Create workflows with conditions, validations, automations, and post functions.
Develop workflows, customizations, and integrations to support management on behalf of product teams and coordinate tasks across other members of the DevSecOps team.
Work closely with information owners to coach and mentor them on how to implement JIRA/Confluence and Atlassian-related products and associated plugins.
Set-up and manage user permissions and project roles for JIRA/Confluence accounts.
Create business rules for optimal use of these products.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
1.5 years DoD Launch/Range Software Engineering, programmer or software developer experience accepted in lieu of each 1 year of degree because of proposed functions in launch site software engineering and IT systems administration and integration.
2 years as a Software Engineer, programmer or software developer, with at least 1 year of NSSL, Launch/Range, DoD, or NASA experience.
Security Clearance:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
