Joining the Market Development Team for the summer of 2025, you will play a crucial role in identifying and evaluating opportunities for StreetLight's expansion into new markets and geographies. Your work will support the business growth objectives of both StreetLight and its parent company, Jacobs.
The summer internship will last approximately ten weeks and is dedicated to private sector sales growth efforts. Your projects will be cross-functional and will involve research, pricing, and product initiatives. The internship will require qualitative interviews, primary research, and secondary research in a fast-evolving space where existing data and reports are often not available.
Potential Areas of Focus:
Lead a project to update pricing strategy and monetization of StreetLight's private sector products within real estate, fuel/EV, tolling, and automotive, among other industries.
Conduct future-facing market research and competitive analysis efforts to identify trends, opportunities, and threats for key sectors to inform FY26 private sector product strategy.
Research the geospatial product (private sector) landscape to summarize trends and advancements that benefit customers to ensure our products remain competitive and innovative.
Offer final recommendations and lessons learned to the organization on creative ways to improve the research, pricing, and productization process to facilitate more rapidly bringing commercial products to market.
Currently an MBA (or similar graduate program) student
Interest in transportation, mobility, and energy
Interest in enterprise software or data products, including market price determination
Knowledge of statistics
Comfortable conducting qualitative interviews with customers (existing and prospective), partners, and competitors.
Adept at conducting primary and secondary research to analyze and size potential markets, establish market segmentation, competitors, market-entry challenges, and financial opportunity.
Excellent executive-level communication skills, including written, visual (presentations), and verbal.
Ability to take initiative and drive projects from concept to completion, even in ambiguous or undefined environments.
Preferred:
Enthusiasm for evaluating newer, rapidly emerging ways to monetize big data for private sector customers
Experience in cloud-based product monetization
Experience in structuring and implementing pricing models that drive revenue
Experience in transportation and mobility industry

Anticipate travel to one in-person larger team meeting for Product staff in July or August 2025
